Ryan Marchant is a versatile artist, whose first instrument was piano. He grew up around music, watching his dad gig with a band, which he says created an innate desire to want to play music. But it was when he first heard punk rock at age 13 when he realized he truly wanted to pick up the guitar and become a musician.
We enjoyed having the talented musician play at our Grand Opening of The Space in October where he entertained our guests. Watch this video to see just how. We recorded the song “Key” as part of his set and are sharing the recording here for the first time:
Ryan studied music at Red Deer College, focusing on jazz, theory and other contemporary styles of music and since graduating has played in a wide range of bands: rock groups, punk bands, jazz combos, tribute bands, also performing his own solo shows.
Check out his other work! He currently plays with the rock group Oldbury and is the lead vocalist and plays rhythm guitar in a cover/tribute band called the KlamDaggers.
